Summary

Responsible for accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timeous payments, reconciliations and collections. The role also serves as support function for all administrative duties related to finance and information technology departments. 

Duties


Accounts Payable and Receivable 

  • To match and process all accounts payable transactions
  • Complete accurate reconciliations and ensure payments are done timeously
  • Processing of local and foreign payments on banking platform
  • Assisting the external auditors when performing the annual audit
  • Liaise with Internal departments and external suppliers
  • Preparation of monthly accruals
  • Allocating of incoming payments to debtors accounts/ reconciling to invoices
  • Investigating and processing of credit notes/ claims
  • Customer collections
  • Processing of debtors journals
  • Liaise with customers and transporters
  • Prepare files for approval for new credit applications and requests for credit limit increases
  • Maintain customer master data

IT and Admin tasks

  • On site support to IT manager to assist with IT related tasks and projects
  • Receipt/ allocation of IT hardware (laptops, desktops, headsets, 3G routers, mouse, keyboards, monitors, handset, toners) to users and maintaining of IT asset register
  • Staging laptops or desktops.
  • Guiding third party service providers hired to install IT equipment or troubleshoot network, hardware or system issues (under guidance of IT manager).
  • Assist with admin tasks such as makings bookings, issuing of stationery, issuing of petty cash, loading of purchase requests/ purchase orders, processing of goods receipts,
  • checking expense claims, logging of admin maintenance issues with the maintenance team, directing finance calls received via the auto attendant and other ad-hoc admin tasks

Additional Information

  •  Tertiary studies in Accounting
  •  Working experience in accounting or credit & debtor control.
  • SAP B1 experience beneficial
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – MS Excel essential
  • Ability to time manage, prioritize and problem solve
  • A neat, logical and efficient disposition capable of working consistently under pressure, and a concern for accuracy and completeness of figures
