UNICEF began operations 11 December 1946 soon after WW2: mostly to assist mothers and children affected by the war.
Its Headquarters are at New York in The United States Of America and currently headed by Catherine M. Russell. The main Activity of UNICEF is providing humanitarian and development aid to Children and women worldwide.
