Scholarships for domestic and foreign students to study and live in regional Australia are made available by approved tertiary education establishments with funding from the Program Destination Australia.

The Australia Destination Program:

Encourages initiatives that contribute to growth and sustainability in order to support Australian tertiary education providers in regional and remote areas.
Provides Australian and international students with the chance to pursue high-quality education, training, and research while also getting a taste of living in Australia’s rural and regional areas.
guaranteeing that localities benefit from the social, cultural, and economic advantages that international students bring.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the Destination Australia Program defines a rural site as any locality outside of Australia’s Big Cities.
For roughly 480 domestic and international students starting their studies in 2023, the program’s 2023 round will provide scholarship money of up to $15,000 per student, per year.

Added goals for 2023 are as follows:

Prioritizing domestic and international students enrolled in programs that are in line with the National Skills Priorities List of the Australian Government will help to address areas of skill shortages and meet future skill requirements.

Giving domestic students from underrepresented groups scholarships so they can enroll in higher programs in remote Australia.
On February 15, 2023, Minister Chisholm released the results of the financing round for the Destination Australia Program 2023. Direct scholarship applications from students are made to reputable educational institutions.

For the term of their scholarship, students must satisfy the following requirements to be eligible for a Destination Australia scholarship:

start a new full-time programme with a recognized provider in the academic year 2023.
The course must be a level of the Australian Qualifications Framework, ranging from Certificate IV to PhD, and it must last one to four years.

For a student from another country:

keep their student visa current throughout the scholarship period
accept a full-time study program offer that is registered on CRICOS.
