LA Blinds Birmingham is seeking 2 motivated and skilled upholsterers to join our team. As an Upholsterer, you will play a vital role in our factory, where you will be responsible for the upholstery of window blinds. This exciting opportunity involves measuring, cutting, sewing fabric, attaching hardware, and ensuring the finishing touches on our blinds. We are looking for individuals with a strong understanding of upholstery techniques and the ability to work with a variety of materials.
Here, we supply blinds of varying styles and colours. Style diversity is key to our service. We want to give you as many options as possible to choose from. The types of fancy blinds you see in showroom ads are what you’ll get with our service. Thus, we offer over several different types of blinds for installation. That’s a lot to choose from. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Measure, cut, and sew fabric for window blinds.
• Attach hardware to window blinds.
• Finish window blinds to desired specifications.
• Work with a variety of materials, including fabric, wood, and metal.
• Follow safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in upholstery.
• Strong sewing skills.
• Ability to work with a variety of materials.
• Attention to detail.
• Safety awareness.
• Strong Multilingual capability (English and Urdu) due to the clientele
• Candidates applying from outside of the UK must have passed IELTS exam at 4.5 overall and in speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Physical Demands: The Upholsterer must be able to lift and move heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and use hand tools.
Work Environment: The Upholsterer will work in a factory setting with exposure to noise and dust.
Compensation and Benefits:
• Annual Salary: £38,700
• 20 days of paid holiday per year
• Visa sponsorship available for suitable candidates from outside of the UK
