ILO is Recruiting
International Labour Organization – ILO was created in 1919 by Part XIII of the Versailles Peace Treaty ending World War I. It grew out of nineteenth-century labor and social movements which culminated in widespread demands for social justice and higher living standards for the world’s working people.
ILO’s history can be traced back to 19th century labor and social movements that led to widespread demands for higher living standards and social justice for the world’s working people.
The ILO’s founders and constituents later adopted a social reform approach, inspired by Alsatian manufacturer Daniel Legrand, who was the first to advocate for international labor legislation. Legrand urged European statesmen to address working population abuses through intergovernmental negotiations.
