The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104, 267-284-5000 (a non-governmental, nationally renowned organization whose members consist of about 500 postsecondary institutions), has accredited Wilmington University.

When an institution is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education, it means that it satisfies or surpasses the standards for institutional quality evaluation that are periodically applied through a peer group review process. An accredited college or university is one that is largely achieving its stated goals through suitable educational programs, has the resources necessary to do so, and has reasonable proof that it will do so going forward.

MSCHE granted Wilmington University its initial accreditation in 1975, and it has continued to do so ever since. Our most recent accreditation occurred in 2015, and in 2019 we submitted and received a peer review. From the time of our most recent re-accreditation, MSCHE has reduced the accreditation period from ten to eight years, spacing out our visits by nine years. We are currently undertaking our next self-study in 2022 and 2023, with the goal of submitting the final report to MSCHE in the first quarter of 2024.
