GIZ InS has been implementing the MIGRA-FLEX project in Niger on behalf of the European Union . This project aims to strengthen the monitoring and analysis of migration flows in Niger through the establishment of a centralised database, the production of strategic analyses and the development of an early warning mechanism on migration dynamics. It supports the Nigerien authorities, civil society and international partners in improving migration governance and coordinating existing initiatives.

GIZ Team Leader, you will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, coordination, and quality assurance of the MIGRA-FLEX project’s outputs, ensuring their alignment with European Union requirements, national priorities, and program objectives.
This includes managing a multidisciplinary team of experts, developing partnerships with government institutions, civil society, and research institutes, and producing high-quality strategic analyses to inform migration policies and programs.

Your main responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the project
- Coordinate and supervise the collection, analysis and dissemination of migration data through a centralized database
- Lead the production of analytical reports on migration trends, routes and policy impacts
- Facilitate a structured dialogue between the European Union, the Nigerien authorities, civil society and technical and financial partners
- Develop and implement an early warning mechanism on migration-related developments
- Ensure the production of quality reports and their timely submission to the European Union and other stakeholders
- Supervise and support the team of experts, ensuring effective cooperation and capacity development
- Represent the project in high-level coordination and policy dialogue forums
- Ensure compliance with all contractual, administrative and financial requirements of the programme funded by the European Union
Your profile
Required :
- Master’s degree or equivalent in political science, international relations, law, migration, or a relevant field
- Excellent skills in strategic analysis and production of analytical reports on migration dynamics
- Proven skills in team management and multi-stakeholder project coordination, with demonstrated experience working with public institutions, civil society and international partners
- Fluency in French and English (written and oral)
- Proven experience of at least 8 years in project management
- At least 10 years of support and assistance to various institutions (State, technical and financial partners, civil society, etc.)
- At least 10 years of experience in the field of migration, international relations or public governance, some of which in West Africa
- Demonstrated experience in setting up mechanisms for monitoring and analyzing migration flows or in similar technical assistance projects
- At least 5 years of experience in implementing EU or other international donor funded projects in the field of migration, governance or strategic analysis
- Experience in managing databases and tools for collecting and analyzing migration data, and in using them for decision-making
- Experience in political dialogue and advocacy with governments, including in the context of EU-partner country cooperation
