GIZ International Services (InS) of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is offering a six-month internship starting November 27, 2025. The intern will support the team in the day-to-day operations of the GIZ International Services division.
GIZ Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH operates in around 120 countries and advises the German Federal Government, international organizations, and governments worldwide.
GIZ International Services (InS) division primarily works for international clients such as the European Commission, the World Bank, and the governments of partner countries. International Services is currently a direct contact within the company for more than 80 clients, thus contributing to promoting sustainable development and international education work worldwide.

The internship is only possible if you are currently enrolled, are enrolled in a continuing education program that includes an internship, or if you have completed your studies no more than six months ago at the start of the internship.
The monthly intern salary is €2,205.04 (gross).

During your internship you will focus on the following areas:
- Assistance in preparing offers and prequalifications for international and national clients
- Taking over the screening of new project opportunities in the tendering business
- Research and management of project references
- Thematic research and information processing
- Market research
- Supporting project management in ongoing projects
- Administrative support
- From the fourth semester onwards, you will study in the fields of social sciences, politics, economics, administration, or law, as well as Near and Middle Eastern
Studies or other relevant courses - In addition to an interest in development cooperation, you bring commitment, flexibility, resilience, independence, and thoroughness. You approach new challenges with creativity and act in a solution- and service-oriented manner.
- We require communication and teamwork skills, as well as very good oral and written expression skills
- Very good knowledge of German and English is required, good knowledge of French is an advantage
- Applied IT skills (Microsoft Office)
- You are able to keep track of your tasks even under pressure and organize your daily work efficiently and independently
Fundraising and Resource Mobilization
- Lead the implementation of a comprehensive fundraising strategy for Habitat for Humanity Africa in collaboration with global fundraising teams such as GFOI, individual giving, and global fundraising networks.
- Lead and coordinate the development of high-quality fundraising proposals, grant applications, and donor reports for Africa National Offices, in collaboration with global fundraising teams and communication teams to ensure alignment with broader organizational goals through appropriate and tailor-made capacity development on proposal writing and funding the acquisition of grants writes to support NOs where need be.
2. Partnership Engagement and external representation.
- Build and nurture strategic partnerships with national and international organizations, the private sector, development agencies, and government bodies, in alignment with global strategies.
