We are especially looking for candidates who can adapt and refocus projects quickly and effectively — based on strong campaign strategy skills — in a fast-changing external environment, while keeping a clear focus on biodiversity priorities. It is essential that you have experience working cross-culturally with respect and sensitivity. We are particularly interested in candidates with lived campaigning experience in the global south, deep knowledge of the drivers of deforestation, and a strong understanding of forest protection solutions.

You’ll be joining the Programme Department at Greenpeace International, which sets the strategic vision and provides support for delivering the Global Programme. Your mission will be to strengthen campaign performance, build greater cohesion across our network, and help develop bold new projects that respond to the planet’s most urgent challenges.

Working on Biodiversity at Greenpeace means working across nature, forests, oceans, food systems, and extractivism. We’re looking for someone who can see the connections between these areas, inspire new collaborations, offer technical advice, and navigate the Greenpeace network to help our campaigns thrive — while also shaping our future direction with your unique skills.

In this role, you will:

  • Guide, inspire, and support NRO and global project teams through all phases of the campaign lifecycle to deliver high-quality, strategic, and impactful campaigns aligned with the Global Programme.
  • Facilitate the co-creation of integrated campaign strategies that respond to Greenpeace’s Global Programme priorities.
  • Provide strategic advice to Programme Leaders across Greenpeace International and NROs, including contributing to the development of long-term campaign directions.
  • Support the delivery of projects through strategic expertise, direct project leadership where needed, and championing innovation and best practice sharing.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, internally and externally, and represent Greenpeace in relevant fora.
  • Identify opportunities to increase strategic alignment and collaboration across NROs and campaign teams.
  • Promote and support agile learning practices, including monitoring, evaluation, and feedback loops, to ensure campaign effectiveness and responsiveness.

What we’re looking for:

Remember, no one has every skill or experience needed for this role, and you’ll have the opportunity to learn a lot from the team. We believe someone who has a few of these is well suited to exceed in this role:

  • Proven track record of delivering ambitious, impactful and people-powered campaigns.
  • Relevant understanding of campaigning covering the equity and justice concerns relating to Biodiversity and Forests.
  • Deep expertise in one or more strategic areas related to Greenpeace’s Biodiversity campaign priorities.
