PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To perform process control duties as per the section-specific procedures to enable the section/plant to meet production targets with respect to time, quality, reduced frequency of errors and wastage reduction.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- NQF Level 4 (matric) with mathematics and science and/or a Process Controller who has passed one PMR Process Controller module.
- 0-1-year relevant plant/process experience.
- Good communication skills with the ability to read and write in English.
- Knowledge of plant-specific processes.
- Knowledge of risk assessments in the workplace, including safety, environmental, security, and quality procedures.
- Knowledge of company policies, standards, procedures and rules.
- Knowledge of basic fighting and first aid training.
- Basic computer literacy with good communication and customer service skills.
- Basic problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Computer literacy i.e., MS Office, SAP will be an added advantage.
- Must be medically fit for the Platinum Metal Refinery (PMR).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out all tasks associated with the Trainee Process Controller position as per the EPMR Primary Separations CPDP.
- Ensure that work is carried out in compliance with work procedures.
- Ensure that log sheets (and other required documentation) are updated accurately, conduct analyses, and monitor operations.
- Responsible for promoting and maintaining safety, environmental, quality and security standards in the area of work.
- Promote and maintain good housekeeping in areas of responsibility.
- Carry out all tasks associated with Process Supervisor, as per Nickel CPDP.
- Supervision and training of personnel (clarifying roles and set objectives for subordinates, identify individual development need, compile personnel development plans, and agree to plan of action, control timekeeping in line with company rules and regulations etc.).
- Budgeting and cost control (monitor and control section costs etc).
- Supervision of production processes in section of responsibility by ensuring that plant throughput is consistently optimised through all sections and during all shifts, product streams are constantly produced as per production plan and on specialisation etc.)
- Conduct planned job observations, perform process inspections, and schedule abnormal sectional maintenance.
- Ensure compliance to all company procedures, standards, rules, and regulations.
- Promote and maintain safety, quality, environmental, security and good housekeeping in area of responsibility.
- Implement technical and process improvements.
