University of Nebraska USA – Scholarships Available for International Students [2024]

University of Nebraska Omaha

University of Nebraska Omaha is Nebraska’s metropolitan university – a university with strong academic values and significant relationships with our community that transforms and improves the lives of those on a local, regional, national, and international level.

University of Nebraska Omaha is located in the heart of Omaha, Nebraska, its roads winding through city parks and thriving neighborhoods, creating an extraordinary connection that few universities have achieved. The city itself has truly become a part of the UNO campus.

On Wednesday, January 13, 2016, Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States, visited University of Nebraska Omaha. More than 10,000 people packed UNO’s Baxter Arena to hear the President speak. His visit came the day following his final State of the Union address.

Application Tips

Scholarships, graduate assistantships, and jobs can be competitive. To help your application stand out:

  • Be Complete. Read the application thoroughly before you respond to the questions. This will help you think of ideas for each section and plan for addressing every question on the application. The form should be completely filled out. References to “see resume or statement of purpose” will not be accepted as complete. The application should look like you gave it a lot of effort.
  • Be Neat. Write a rough draft before submitting your scholarship application. Grammar, spelling, and overall appearance are important. A professional, well-organized application will please the reviewers.
  • Be Focused. Ensure your responses are focused on the topic of each question.
  • Be Thoughtful. Unless instructed otherwise, do not feel limited to the space provided on the application form. If you run out of space, include more information in a separate document. An effective response will fully and succinctly answer the question.
  • Be Yourself! The application is the only way the reviewers have to learn about you. It is your opportunity to show the committee who you are and what you value most. Be yourself and share how your values align with the specific criteria of the application.
