To put in practice this responsibility, the Members of ISA adopted in 2020 a dedicated Action Plan on Marine Scientific Research in support of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. This framework outlines a deep-sea research agenda, setting forth six research priorities for the coming years. In this context, the objectives of the Marine Deep-sea Research Internship are to:
• Provide the selected candidate with practical experience in the implementation of the global deep-sea research agenda
• Enhance the intern’s technical and scientific skills, contributing to the development of capacity in deep-sea research and management.
• Enable the intern to identify emerging deep-sea research topics to expand the MSR Action Plan. In this context, ISA is seeking a highly motivated intern to assist in diversifying the ISA MSR. Participants from developing countries are encouraged to apply.
