GIZ global project “Investing in Resilient and Sustainable Supply Chains (IGS)” aims to improve the resilience and sustainability of global supply chains, particularly for critical raw materials. Together with companies, so-called lighthouse projects are selected, and measures are developed to support economic investments and initiatives for diversifying critical raw material supply chains through development policy.

GIZ projects pursue a win-win approach, addressing the opportunities and risks that arise for partner countries, for example, by promoting human rights and social and environmental standards.
GIZ Furthermore, the IGS will expand and strengthen proven approaches such as the Responsible Business Helpdesk (RBH) network. The RBHs are run by associations and chambers of commerce in nine countries. They raise awareness, inform, and train local companies on the topic of sustainable supply chains.

During their internship, they will support the team in coordinating the RBH network, developing the monitoring and evaluation system, and preparing project activities in raw material supply chains.
In this context, the internship includes, among other things, the following tasks:
- They provide support with content research and, if required, with the creation of technical articles, as well as support in planning processes and project management, and in the exchange with partners and relevant initiatives.
- They support the communication of the project, in particular the social media presence of the RBH Network.
- They provide support in processing experiences from international and local collaborations and in handling internal and external inquiries.
- They provide further organizational support in day-to-day operations as needed and support knowledge management.
- As part of these tasks, you will become familiar with the structures and working methods of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) GmbH. You will have the opportunity to gain insights into the various topics related to corporate due diligence.
- You are currently studying humanities, social sciences, environmental sciences, communication sciences or economics with a focus on sustainability and economics and are in the final phase of your studies or your degree was awarded no more than 6 months ago.
- Her German and English are fluent in both spoken and written form.
- They have knowledge in one or more of the following thematic areas: raw material supply chains, occupational safety, social and environmental standards, corporate due diligence.
- They have already gained initial practical experience in collaborating with companies, associations, industry initiatives or multi-stakeholder networks.
- They enjoy organizing and maintain a clear overview even in hectic situations. They act proactively and in a structured manner.
- They are team players, can quickly grasp complex issues, and always maintain an overview and a sense of priorities in hectic situations.
- They work carefully, with a focus on quality and results, and they meet deadlines.
- They possess excellent computer skills and are proficient in using MS Office (especially Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams, Excel).

The monthly intern salary is €2,205.04 (gross).
