NZ Farms are looking for a Farm Assistant to join our team on a well set up dairy farm in Hororata. We are milking 1350 cows through a 80 bail rotary and 850 cows through a 60 bail rotary both with Protrack and ACR’s.

NZ farms are looking for someone who has: – An interest in dairy farming with a desire to progress to herd management – At least one year’s dairy farming experience – Enjoy working in a team environment – Be honest, reliable and have a positive attitude We provide training and coaching to help progression into our Farm Management roles as well as a competitive remuneration package. 

NZ farm is located approximately 10 mins from Hororata and 45 mins to Christchurch. You must have NZ Citizenship, Residency or a valid NZ work visa and be in NZ & available for a face to face interview. Applicants must be able to pass a drug test. Please send your CV by the online application

We are looking for a dairy herd manager to join our team who will ideally have 2 to 3 years NZ dairy farm experience.

This is for a 2200 cow farm in the Te Pirita area, 37 minutes from Ashburton, milking through two sheds – a 60 & 80 Bail Rotary sheds. Both have protrack and cup removers.

A Farmer manages farms, ranches, greenhouses, nurseries, and other agricultural production organizations. Farmers are involved in planting, cultivating, performing post-harvest duties, overseeing livestock, and supervising farm labor depending on the type of farm.

To be successful as a farmer, you should demonstrate a passion for the outdoors, knowledge of agricultural machinery, and physical stamina. Ultimately, a top-notch Farmer should possess physical strength, good hand-eye coordination, and a keen interest in agriculture.

You’ll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including:

  • Milking twice a day, shed cleaning and setup
  • shifting cows, setting fences and feeding
  • pasture management & paddock selection
  • fencing, weed control and other farm duties
  • calving cows, feeding calfs, identifying and treating sick cows

Salary is subject to experience. Candidates are required to provide good related references.
