GIZ implements projects on topics such as digitalization, land law, labor law, and administrative modernization. These projects are grouped together in a hub structure that combines the areas of administration, finance, logistics, and communication.

GIZ new project “Strengthening the Rule of Law and Transparency to Promote Social Cohesion in Senegal” complements the existing portfolio and aims to promote public trust in the state and social cohesion by strengthening the judiciary and combating illicit financial flows.

  • Support of daily work processes
  • Preparation of research and drafts for status reports and concepts
  • Support in drawing up contracts
  • Support in the preparation and implementation of events
  • Completed university degree in law (1st state examination) (mandatory requirement)
  • At the time of application, you are already a trainee lawyer (m/f/d) (as defined by the legal training laws of the federal states, mandatory requirement)
  • Good to very good knowledge of French (at least B2/C1)
  • German language skills C2
  • Interest in legal issues relating to the rule of law, access to justice, alternative dispute resolution, and/or anti-corruption, particularly with regard to IFF (Illicit Financial Flows)
  • Relevant internships
  • Openness and flexibility

You can apply for this position permanently. We are currently recruiting starting in April 2026 (for a period of 3-5 months).

  • Completed university degree (at least Bachelor’s degree) in the field of political or social sciences or a comparable subject relevant to the position
  • Knowledge of German and international foreign and security policy and/or knowledge of cybersecurity
  • Initial professional experience in international cooperation or development cooperation is an advantage, e.g. through internships or voluntary work
  • Experience in working with African partners is an advantage
  • Experience in (political) communication, event management or similar is an advantage
  • Initial experience in cooperation with public, private or civil society institutions in digital or security policy areas is an advantage, e.g. through study projects or internships
  • Strong commitment, team orientation, analytical understanding and quick comprehension, organizational talent and enjoyment of event management
  • Fluent German and English skills
