Kitchen Assistant – Fairbanks, AK

Our Fairbanks Westmark Hotel and Conference Center team is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our Food & Beverage team. Where would we be without you, the Heart of the House? You set the tone for a safe and enjoyable experience for all team members and our guests.
Responsibilities:
- To ensure that guests receive clean and spotless China, silverware and glassware.
- To provide the cooks, server assistants, bartenders and servers with support and assistance.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness of kitchen facilities.
- No supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Minimum age of 18 years is required
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
- Participates in HAP’s sustainability program, aka “Sustain Alaska & the Yukon”, and efforts by actively recycling (where available), reducing waste, and educating guests about our commitment to the environment.
- Participate in HAP’s safety culture to ensure a safe workplace for all team members and a safe vacation experience for all guests.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Ability to regularly lift a minimum of 10-15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, chemical instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
- Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including all company health and safety standards.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and employees and problem solve.
- Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
