Job Description:

Purpose of the role:

The purpose is to be the overarching expert and owner for Crushers, Screens, Mills and HPGR

Key Responsibilities:

• Define specifications and operating criteria for Crushers, Screens, Mills and HPGR and conduct testing in close collaboration with Processing.
• Ensure service strategies and tactics are governed centrally where applicable, and subject to the E&M Master Data Standards.
• Ensure operations produce 12 week and rolling 52 week plans and review for quality.
• Analyse root causes for performance issues and facilitate improvement sprints.
• Work with operations to maximise OEE and MTFB of these equipment’s.
• Closely collaborate with SC on the purchase specifications for equipment and strategic planning with suppliers.
• Conduct site visits to understand local conditions and planning procedures, etc.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis and Defect Elimination as required or Optimisation of equipment performance as necessary.
• Conduct project reviews and develop asset strategy for this part of the plant.
• Develop and refine norms for plant and closely collaborate with structural engineering on asset integrity.
• Develop reliability block models.
• Work with all other functions in E&M to ensure Asset Plans are accurate and replacement norms reflect best practices.
• Define shutdown best practices and conduct benchmarking (internal and external)
• Collaborate with Engineering and OEM’s on electrical issues and upgrades.
• Advise and oversee condition monitoring for this part of plant Anglo American.

Role-specific knowledge:

• Demonstrated maintenance and operational support experience.
• Solve technical and operational issues in cooperation with relevant stakeholders.
• Implements the most effective solutions to drive efficiencies.
• Optimise productivity and quality targets through utilising Engineering knowledge and cooperating with multi-disciplinary teams highlighting the areas of improvement.
• Manage, monitors and drives project activities within a specific project or Operation.
• Demonstrable balance between theoretical mechanical engineering and practical mechanical system maintenance, operations, and management.
• Proactively identifies, mitigates, and escalate risks..

Technical knowledge:

• Demonstrated knowledge of operational complexities experienced as an engineer in a mining operation.
• In addition to English proficiency, Portuguese and/or Spanish language skills would be highly advantageous.
• Sound working knowledge of relevant processing plant equipment (e.g. crushers, screens, mills)

Experience:

• Proven track record of extensive experience with the equipment and technical background (10 – 15 years.)

Qualifications:

• An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline (e.g. Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering)
• A postgraduate qualification (Masters / Doctoral degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline would be an advantage,
