GIZ advises the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) on the implementation of its energy partnerships (EPs) with Algeria, Egypt, Argentina, Ethiopia, Brazil, Chile, China, India, Morocco, Mexico, Namibia, South Africa, Thailand, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uruguay, and Vietnam. Key objectives of the cooperation include intensifying political and technical exchange on energy issues between Germany and these countries, as well as supporting private sector activities in the energy sector.

GIZ Global Project on Bilateral Energy Partnerships supports the BMWi’s international unit responsible for energy partnerships in coordinating EP activities uniformly, aligning them strategically, defining their content, and achieving consistent external communication and political visibility. The energy partnerships are a central instrument of the German government’s foreign energy policy strategy. They serve as a dialogue platform and point of contact for bilateral exchange on energy issues for the participating stakeholders from politics, business, research, and civil society.

As part of their internship, they will support the German team at the Eschborn location in internal and external communications.
Their tasks will include:
- Support in handling ongoing PR requests from the EP secretariats (including corporate design, social media, study trips)
- Support in the development and implementation of communication strategies
- Conception and design of communication products (including flyers, brochures)
- Organization of energy policy dialogue events and workshops in Germany with government representatives and companies from Germany and partner countries
- Support with internal knowledge and information management (including maintenance of the knowledge management system)
- Creation and publication of articles for internal and external newsletters
- Preparation of PowerPoint presentations for the project management and other team members for presentations at home and abroad.
- Updating and adapting the websites of the energy partnerships (making them accessible and climate-neutral, SEO optimization) in consultation with the external communications agency
- Evaluation of PR activities (including social media, websites, media relations)
- Support for internal communication and communication within the GIZ world (including intranet articles)
- Management and establishment of social media channels
- You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s/Master’s program (or have recently completed one) in the field of communication, media, cultural, social sciences or comparable academic qualifications and have gained initial experience in the field of communication.
- Familiarity with the basics of project and corporate communication and basic knowledge of the use of the various channels and instruments.
- a strong linguistic expression and initial editorial experience
- Enjoyment of advising others on communication issues, professional demeanor and high social competence
- Ability to structure and complete tasks well and efficiently, even under time pressure, and strong teamwork skills.
- very good knowledge of using the internet and the common MS Office applications
- Fluent English and German skills, as well as good knowledge of at least one of the following languages, are an advantage: French, Spanish, Arabic or Chinese.

The internship is only possible if you are currently enrolled at a university, are participating in a further education program that includes an internship as an integral part of your studies, or if your degree was awarded no more than 6 months prior to the start of the internship.
The monthly intern salary is €2,205.04 (gross).
