GIZ approximately two-thirds of the partner countries of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) are affected by fragility and violent conflict. The sector project ‘Peace and Security, Disaster Risk Management’ supports the BMZ’s Peace and Security Division in positioning itself on development policy issues in the context of bilateral and multilateral peacebuilding, security policy, and disaster risk management, and in further developing the conceptual foundations in these areas.

During your internship you will have the following tasks:
- Content and organizational support of the team in the varied daily business and in longer-term processes
- Occasional research, evaluation of documents and content preparation of information for BMZ advice in the field of peace and security
- Support in the preparation of written contributions and speeches
- Support with statements and comments
- Participation in the creation of presentations and publications
- Support in the preparation and implementation of events
- Support for knowledge management
- Studies in political or social sciences or a comparable discipline, with a focus on peace and security, international politics/relations, development cooperation
- Knowledge and initial institutional experience in international cooperation related to peace and security, particularly with development policy approaches
- Analytical thinking skills and organizational talent as well as high flexibility and teamwork skills
- Willingness and ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics and work processes
- Flexibility in handling short-term work orders and the ability to deliver high-quality work results even under tight deadlines
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills; knowledge of another language (especially French) is an advantage
- Very good knowledge of common MS Office applications
