World Vision has been committed to protecting and caring for children and those in need. From our founder Bob Pierce giving the last $5 in his pocket to help care for an abandoned Chinese girl in 1947, to then-CEO Stan Mooneyham purchasing a large ship in 1979 to rescue refugee families stranded at sea in Vietnam, World Vision has gone where others would not. Even in the places where it is hard to be a child, God is there—and we should be there too. So, our mission continues.
World Vision created by Bob Pierce three years after he came face to face with an abandoned child and chose not to look away. Determined the last $5 in his pocket wasn’t enough, he knew more people had to be involved for a long-term solution and broader impact. Initially based in the state of Oregon, the organisation focused on missions service for emergencies in East Asia. Today World Vision has become the largest Christian international non-governmental organisation working in nearly 100 countries worldwide.

Violence against children is a critical concern for the most vulnerable girls and boys everywhere that World Vision works. Children who experience violence are often left with long-lasting negative social, emotional, mental, physical and spiritual consequences.
Over 1 billion children suffer violence every year costing the world US$7 trillion, far more than the cost of preventing violence. Child marriage, child labour, and corporal punishment still affect children on a daily basis. Children with disabilities also suffer disproportionately, and are more likely to be neglected or physically, emotionally, and sexually abused. Emergencies and conflict situations exacerbate or create new child protection concerns.

At World Vision, we focus on preventing violence against children from happening in the first place, responding to violence when it does occur, and restoring children who have been affected to a state of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate the design, monitoring, and evaluation processes for programs and projects, ensuring support for these projects and the implementation of accountability and learning processes. This allows for the identification of good practices and opportunities for improvement that result in the excellent performance of programs and projects in terms of child well-being outcomes, fostering timely and meaningful reporting on the impact of WVRD’s actions on the most vulnerable children and adolescents.
In coordination with DME management, lead and accompany social research processes (Diagnostics – Baselines, etc.) ensuring learning and recognition of the different country contexts, providing relevant and timely information, which allows WVRD to make relevant decisions to address situations that affect the protection and well-being of children in border and urban contexts, strengthening the organizational positioning with donors and influencing public policies focused on the protection of children in the territories.
Requirements:
– Professional graduate in Industrial Engineering, Economics, Administration, Social Sciences or related professions.
– Master’s degrees in Social Research, Social Project Management, Statistics, Quality Management, Social Sciences, among other related fields. Specializations, diplomas, or courses on the design, monitoring, and/or evaluation of social projects.
– Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project design, monitoring, and evaluation; recognition of accountability mechanisms and capitalization of learning from the implementation of social processes and projects.
– Advanced command of English (essential)
– Develop training processes for teams on MEAL management topics.
– Definition, design and application of research methodologies and techniques and qualitative and quantitative instruments.
– Knowledge management and learning from the monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects.
