Construction laborers duties can vary depending on the project and employer. Some common responsibilities include:
- Site preparation: Moving obstacles and preparing the site for construction
- Material handling: Transporting, loading, and unloading construction materials
- Temporary structures: Assembling and disassembling scaffolding and other temporary structures
- Digging and trenching: Digging trenches and building foundations
- Concrete work: Mixing concrete, putting up formwork, and laying concrete

- Cleanup: Keeping the site clean and tidy, and filling skips

Construction Laborer Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Be at least 18 years of age.

Construction Laborer Responsibilities:
- Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
- Help equipment operators, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary.

Job Description
Load, unload and transport construction materials
Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades
Mix, pour and spread materials
Level earth to fine grade specifications
Clean and pile salvaged materials
Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
May tend machines or equipment used in construction
Chipping concrete and concrete removal
Mixing, pouring and spreading concrete, asphalt, or gravel
Using powered tools such as Jack-hammers
Digging, spreading and leveling dirt and gravel
Performing a variety of routine, non-machine tasks, such as removing forms from set concrete, painting and other related tasks
Lifting, carrying and holding building materials, tools, and supplies; cleaning tools, equipment, materials, and work areas
Requirements
Education: Completion of secondary school is required.
Experience: Experience is an asset. On-the-job training will be provided.
Work conditions and Physical capabilities: Tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, manual dexterity.
Weight Handling: up to 23 kg (50lbs)
Personal suitability: flexibility, reliability, team player
Work Site Environment: Dusty, noisy, dangerous, outdoors, heights

Language: Basic to Intermediate level of English is required.
