Implats, or Impala Platinum Holdings Limited, is a leading producer of platinum and platinum group metals (PGMs). The company’s history began in 1966 when Union Corporation established a platinum mine in Rustenburg, South Africa, with a capacity of 100,000 ounces per year. 

Implats in 1968 was created as a subsidiary of Union Corporation and entered into an agreement with the Bafokeng tribe to lease 12,000 hectares of land for prospecting. The first blast took place on June 3, 1967, and production began on July 22, 1969.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The SAP Portfolio Manager: Human Capital, will leading a SAP team focusing on the strategic change, support and maintenance of Human Capital Management processes and solutions in the areas of Personnel Administration (PA), Organizational Management (OM), Time Management (TM), Talent Acquisition (TA), Training and Event Management, Learning, Performance Management, Compensation Management, and Payroll & Benefits (PY & BEN) supporting all business units. 3.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS A NQF level 7 qualification computer science, engineering or commercial discipline with a Human Resources background Minimum of 10 years’ experience in global industry or IT environment.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience with SAP with a focus on supporting and configuring SAP HCM modules. Strong SAP Payroll / HR application experience with specific knowledge of: Enterprise / Personnel Structure; SAP Payroll Configuration – Rules and schemas; Wage Types; Overpayment Functionality and postings to finance.

Excellent understanding of SAP Payroll Processing Methodology SAP S4 knowledge / exposure advantageous Knowledge of SAP ABAP development concepts, guidelines and SAP architecture Knowledge and application of relevant IT best practices (technical, security and business) Knowledge of IT Service Management principles and frameworks (ITIL 3) Knowledge of project & programme management including methods and tools Knowledge of mining industry models, legal- and IT governance frameworks Ability to balance the demands of projects, customer expectations, support, and operational requirements in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Human Resource Officer

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide a general Human Resources service in designated area of responsibility to ensure compliance to relevant HR legal requirements as per company’s HR policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) AND studying towards an HR qualification (NQF Level 6) is essential.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as an HR Assistant in a mining environment is essential.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office package) is essential.
  • Valid Medical Certificate, or medically fit in order to obtain such a Certificate.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of current labour legislation and processes is essential.
  • Communication skills (verbal & written) are essential.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Compile daily, weekly and monthly HR Reports in order to assist management make informed decisions ( i.e. absenteeism, leave including sick leave and training)
  • Co-ordinate and assist management to comply with legal requirements (i.e. ensuring that employees have valid red ticket, training plotters, first aid certificates and legally required qualifications)
  • Ensure that all medical certificates are scrutinised and verified with the council of Medical Practitioners in order to ensure validity..
  • Ensure disciplinary action is taken fairly against attendance related misconducts.
  • Provide administrative support pertaining various HR related functions.
  • Facilitate that hearing loss investigations are conducted.
  • Ensure that non-available process is followed and adhered to.
  • Ensure the correct capturing of records (i.e. exit interviews, disciplinary actions, hearing counselling/investigations)
  • Assist HR Management with the implementation of the employee wellness program.
